In early 2026, tungsten carbide cutting blades doped with trace amounts of TaC-VN composite carbides successfully completed validation at a hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing facility.
After continuous operation for 1,000 hours in a high-pressure hydrogen environment (35 MPa), the blades showed no signs of microcrack propagation. Their service life in cutting sealing gaskets reached 180,000 meters—three times longer than conventional blades, which typically last only 60,000 meters.
