Today, the Huilisheng editor will guide you on how to properly use tungsten carbide cutting blades:

Tungsten carbide cutting blades offer extremely high wear resistance.

Their lifespan when cutting corrugated cardboard is ten times that of ordinary high-speed steel thin blades.

Proper use can improve cutting quality and extend the service life of circular blades.

Otherwise, it is easy to cause circular blades to break. In production, blade breakage is a major headache for carton manufacturers.

Here are key considerations for production operations:

Handling and Storage:

Due to their high hardness and brittleness, tungsten carbide blades must be handled gently.

During transportation, storage, and installation, they should be kept horizontal and must not collide with any hard objects.

For low-precision, low-speed slitting operations, avoid using tungsten carbide slitting blades, as this will shorten their lifespan.

Blade Installation:

Before installation, ensure the tool holder's running end is within normal tolerance (0.1 mm) and check the flatness of the tool holder against standards.

Inspect the tool holder and circular blade for any foreign objects. After wiping the circular blade and blade holder, insert the blade into the tool holder.

Ensure no foreign objects are present between the circular blade and the tool holder, and that the gap is correct.

Tighten the pressure plate bolts diagonally to ensure even force and moderate tension. Avoid over-tightening,

which can deform the circular blade or cause dry friction between the circular blade and the lower blade, leading to damage.

It is recommended to add a paper washer between the circular blade and the paper press roller to alleviate rigid contact.

Sharpening:

Correctly adjust the gap between the circular blade and the grinding wheel. Incorrect gaps can cause deformation during grinding, leading to blade cracking.

After installing the grinding wheel, check if the grinding wheel bolts are loose. Excessive end-face runout of the grinding wheel can cause impact and break the blade.

The grinding wheel angle should roughly match the cutting edge angle of the circular blade.

The size of the grinding block and the stroke of the moving block determine the stability during sharpening. The stroke gap should be maintained between 3-5 mm.
