In the green packaging revolution, an ultra-fine grain tungsten steel cutting blade has been successfully applied for high-speed slicing of new microalgae-based degradable films.
This material is brittle and prone to tearing, and traditional cutting tools often cause burrs, leading to sealing failures.
The new cutting blade employs nano-level edge polishing and micro-serration design, achieving ±0.02mm precision cutting at speeds of 300m/min,
ensuring the integrity of food-grade packaging.
The project team stated that this breakthrough addresses a critical bottleneck in scaling biobased materials from the laboratory to mass production,
truly enabling “compostable” packaging to enter the market.
