In January 2026, a blockchain-based "Digital Passport" system for tungsten carbide cutting blades was launched at pilot enterprises.
Each blade is assigned a unique ID; scanning a QR code provides access to its origin mine,
powder batch, sintering profile, sharpening records, and usage count.
The system complies with the OECDDue Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas,
helping export-oriented companies mitigate ESG risks.
The China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association (CMTBA) stated that, starting in 2027,
material traceability will be mandatory for high-end tungsten carbide cutting blades to ensure transparency across global supply chains.
