Blade Quality:
The blade should be sharp, smooth, and free of chips or nicks. When inspecting, you can carefully run your finger along the blade (with caution to avoid cuts) to feel for evenness. Alternatively, test the sharpness by cutting a piece of paper. A sharp blade should slice through paper effortlessly, leaving a clean edge.

Blade Construction:
The blade body should be straight and free from warping or distortion. For high-speed steel cutting knives with handles, the connection between the handle and the blade should be secure, with no looseness. You can check this by holding the handle and gently wiggling the blade.

Overall Balance:
When holding the knife, it should feel well-balanced. For example, with longer knives, the center of gravity should be located within the first third to half of the blade length, closer to the handle. This design ensures better control during use and reduces hand fatigue.
