Today, the editor of Huilisheng will introduce the wear factors of tungsten carbide cutting blades:
Tungsten carbide cutting blades are typically highly durable and offer excellent cutting performance.
However, they inevitably wear over time, and the extent of this wear is closely related to the following key factors:
1.Material: Tungsten carbide cutting blades are made from materials with high hardness but relatively low toughness.
Hardness and toughness are inversely related—a balance that still requires improvement.
For instance, graphite circular blades can be manufactured using materials with greater toughness.
2.Surface Coating: Diamond-coated slitting blades offer advantages such as high hardness and a low friction coefficient, making them an ideal production method currently.
However, their production costs are higher, and the technology in this field is not yet fully mature.
Graphite-coated circular blades are more widely used and practical. Therefore,
to reduce the wear of tungsten carbide cutting blades, priority should be given to optimizing both material selection and coating.
